677 Using Push 2
Press Browse to Load a Sample in an Empty Simpler.
After loading a sample and switching to Device View, you will see the sample’s waveform in
Push 2’s display, along with a number of parameters that allow you to quickly adjust how the
sample plays back. This is the main bank of Simpler’s controls.

By default, Simpler will automatically set certain parameters based on the length of the loaded
sample. For example, short samples will play once when triggered, while long samples will be
set to loop and warp. Warped samples will play back at the tempo of your Set, regardless of
which note you play. Bringing a warped clip into Simpler from an audio track, the browser, or
your desktop preserves any warp settings and markers that were in the original clip. For more
information about warping, see the Audio Clips, Tempo, and Warping chapter (page 155).
The most important parameter that determines how Simpler will treat samples is the Mode con-
trol, which is used to choose one of Simplers three playback modes.
