6026 TURBIDITY PROBE
The 6000
UPG turbidity probe requires only
minimal maintenance. After each deployment,
the optical surface on the tip of the turbidity
probe should be inspected for fouling and
cleaned if necessary by gently wiping the probe
face with moist lens cleaning paper. In addition,
it is recommended that the wiper be replaced
periodically. The frequency of this replacement
depends on the quality of water under
examination. A replacement wiper is supplied
with the 6026 sensor, along with the hex driver
required for its removal and reinstallation.
Follow the instructions supplied with the turbidity sensor to insure proper installation of the new
wiper assembly. Additional wipers are available from YSI.
NOTE: If any of the 6000
UPG probes are removed from the sonde for maintenance, dry the sonde
port and probe connector with compressed air and apply a very thin coat of O-ring lubricant to all
O-rings before re-installation.
7.3 GENERAL MAINTENANCE NOTE
In the event that the 6000UPG continues to exhibit some problem that you can not correct by
following the Maintenance procedures outlined within this section, call your authorized service
center. See Appendix C for contact information.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INTERNAL CIRCUITRY
OF THE SONDE.
