5.5 THE SETUP MENU
Choosing the Setup option from the menu bar allows you to configure the PC program to your
specifications. Highlight Setup, from the menu bar and press Enter.

Other than the Comm port and Printer port options, the default values are adequate to perform
virtually every function of the 6000
UPG.
Select these options if it is necessary to change the default communications setup. These options
must be properly set before attempting to communicate with the software inside the sonde. See
Section 4.5. If you have difficulty communicating with the sonde, change the comm port and try
again. PC6000 allows only Comm port 1 or 2.
The baud rate can be changed by highlighting it and pressing Enter. Select from a list of possible
baud rates which will be displayed. The baud rate you select here must match the baud rate set in
the sonde (which defaults to 9600). See Section 4.3.
