4.4.4 LDAP/E-Directory
The
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
is an application protocol for querying
and modifying data of directory services implemented in Internet Protocol (IP) networks. If
you have an LDAP server congured on your network, you can use it as an easy way to add,
manage and authenticate MegaRAC
®
card users. This is done by passing login requests to
your LDAP Server. This means that there is no need to dene an additional authentication
mechanism, when using the MegaRAC
®
card. Since your existing LDAP Server keeps an
authentication centralized, you will always know who is accessing the network resources and
can easily dene the user or group-based policies to control access.
To open LDAP Settings page, click
Configuration > LDAP
from the main menu. A sample
screenshot of LDAP Settings Page is shown in the screenshot below. LDAP Settings Page
1. Advanced Settings: To congure LDAP Advanced Settings. Options are
Enable LDAP Authentication, IP Address, Port and Search base.
2. Add Role Group: To add a new role group to the device. Alternatively,
double click on a free slot to add a role group.
3. Modify Role Group: To modify the particular role group.
4. Delete Role Group: To be delete a role group from the list.
