I Recording from Audio Components l
The following operations show you how to record audio to the cassette, DAT, or MD deck connected to the MD/TAPE 1
or TAPE 2 MONITOR jacks.
The receiver's volume, balance, tone (BASS, TREBLE, and LOUDNESS), and surround effects have no effect
on the recorded signal.

Select the component you want to record.
Press SIG. SELECT on the remote or SIGNAL SELECT on the front
pane_ to select "ANALOG" when mak{ng analog recordings, or
"DIGITAL" when making digital recordings. (Refer to "Switching
ANALOG/DIGITAL s(gnal input" on page 293
2 Prepare the program source.
(Tuneinthe radio stationor loadthe CD,etc.)
3 Insert a blank tape into the cassette deck IMD/TAPE 1 or
TAPE 2 MONITOR) and adjust the recording level (if necessary).
SIG. SELECT 4 Start recording on the cassette deck, then start playback
from the source component.
, The audio of MD/TAPE 1 cannot be recorded.

If you connect a cassette deck (etc.) with a record monitor function to the
TAPE 2 MONITOR jacks, you can listen to the sound of the recording as it is
being recorded.
Press TAPE 2 MONITOR to switch between the sound of the
recording (TAPE 2 indicator onl and the sound of the source
component (TAPE 2 indicator off),
• This receiver outputs the input signal directly to the recording
device, As there is no conversion of the audio signal,
recordings cannot be made from analog to digital, and similarly
from digital to analog.
• Recordings cannot be made from TAPE 2 MONITOR to
M D/TAPE 1.
