6.3 Determination of Viability
When both the concentration of non-viable cells and the total concentration of cells are
known, it is possible to calculate the viability (%viability) of the cells or the
concentration of viable cells. For the calculation the multiplication factors must be taken
into account, which is the total dilution of the original sample, as in the equation shown
below.
