Usage – This field is used to tell the COM24 which type of transfer to execute. Only two values
are available for customer use (all others are for development purposes only):
2 = Software Upgrade – This option is used to update the COM24 software. In this case,
the file is downloaded to the COM24 card specified by the earlier Card IP address.
3 = Log – This option tells the COM24 to transfer its log file to the destination entered in
the “IP_Address” field (i.e., log file is uploaded to PC).
Server_IP_Address – This field tells the COM24 card where to retrieve the software update or
where to send the log file, based upon the “Usage” setting above. The default value for this field
is 192.168.1.254.
Filename – This value entered in this field tells the COM24 which file to download (in the case
of software updates), or what name you want to give the log file being transferred from the card.
Mode – This field is used to tell the COM24 card which file-transfer protocol to use for the file
transfers. The supported modes are TFTP (option „0‟) and FTP (option „1‟), allowing you to
select the mode that best works with the software you use for the transfer. The default setting is
0.

The card will automatically reset after completing an upgrade.
