1 HP Systems Insight Manager release notes HP Systems Insight Manager 7.3 Update 1 release provides information on feature enhancements, new supports, and issues with suggested actions. Description HP Systems Insight Manager is a system management software designed to help manage HP Proliant servers and storage. 2 Important notes The following sections describe the list of known issues. Central Management Server Do careful planning to deploy new drivers, firmware agents, or other software to the local CMS to avoid unexpected results, such as a mandatory restart of the CMS. SNMPv3 The SNMPv3 supports and limitations are as follows: SNMPv3 INFORM support Use SIM Engine ID - 0x8000000b0448502d53494d to send SNMPv3 INFORMs to SIM.
Software/Firmware The HPUX CMS does not support the following features: • Offline firmware upgrade • Installs to Onboard Administrator, HP iLO, or Virtual Connect • Installs to servers that are not running the HP Version Control Agent You can set up HP SIM on a Linux or (yet better) Windows system to gain this functionality. NOTE: Install Software and Firmware deployment to an iLO does not work if Trust Platform Mode is disabled on the server.
Version Control Repository Manager SIM 7.3 users cannot do online deployment of agents using custom baseline with VCRM 7.2.2 and its prior versions. Users must upgrade to VCRM 7.3.0 for online deployment. 3 Issues and suggested actions The HP SIM undergoes rigorous testing before any given version of the product is released. From HP test activities to date, the following items have been uncovered that you must keep in mind. HP SIM • Issue: The Enclosure Manager Firmware version 1.20 and version 1.30 have issues in returning Serial Number and Unique Identifier of IO Module in XML Response. Description: IO Module nodes are discovered automatically when Enclosure Manager is discovered.

Registering for software technical support and update service HP SIM is supported in any one of the following situations: • A valid warranty exists (90 days Global Limited Warranty) • Purchase of Insight Control (having 1-year 24x7 Technical Support bundled with the license purchase) • If the question is related to HP Insight Remote Support (HP Insight RS), then HP SIM will be supported as it pertains in Insight RS with a Hardware Warranty or Hardware Contract • The customer purchases an HP SIM Care
