5.1.3 Battery
The external backup battery is connected between B
ATT GND (-) and BATT +24V (+) on the
connector marked B
ATTERY on CI 1376.
A 16Ah battery gives approximately six hours backup time with 5-8 hours charging time
dependent on model. For longer backup time an external charger is required to be able to
charge the battery within a reasonable time. An external battery protection circuit (like Nor-
marcs BP 543) has to be connected between the E
XT. CHARGER (+) and BATT GND (-) input.
In addition M
AINS directly on NM 7050 has to be disconnected. Figure 5-4 shows the connec-
tions schematically.
