MaintenanceSafety
•Beforeyouleavetheoperator’sposition,dothe
following:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–ShiftthetransmissionintotheNEUTRALposition
(manual)orthePARKposition(automatic).
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey(if
equipped).
–Waitforallmovementtostop.
•Allowmachinecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
•Allowonlyqualiedandauthorizedpersonnelto
maintain,repair,adjust,orinspectthemachine.
•Beforeperforminganymaintenance,thoroughly
cleanandrinsethesprayer;refertoChemical
Safety.
•Chemicalsusedinthesprayersystemmaybe
hazardousandtoxictoyou,bystanders,animals,
plants,soils,orotherproperty.
–Carefullyreadandfollowthechemicalwarning
labelsandsafetydatasheets(SDSs)for
allchemicalsused,andprotectyourself
accordingtothechemicalmanufacturer’s
recommendations.
–Alwaysprotectyourskinwhileyouarenear
chemicals.Usetheappropriatepersonal
protectiveequipment(PPE)toguardagainst
contactwithchemicals,includingthefollowing:
◊safetyglasses,goggles,and/orfaceshield
◊achemicalsuit
◊arespiratororltermask
◊chemical-resistantgloves
◊rubberbootsorothersubstantialfootwear
◊acleanchangeofclothes,soap,and
disposabletowelsforcleanup
–Refusetooperateorworkonthesprayerif
chemicalsafetyinformationisnotavailable.
–Donotll,calibrate,orcleanthemachinewhile
people,especiallychildren,orpetsareinthe
area.
–Handlechemicalsinawell-ventilatedarea.
–Havecleanwateravailable,especiallywhen
llingthespraytank.
–Donoteat,drink,orsmokewhileworkingnear
chemicals.
–Donotcleanspraynozzlesbyblowingthrough
themorplacingtheminyourmouth.
–Alwayswashyourhandsandotherexposed
areasassoonaspossibleafterworkingwith
chemicals.
–Chemicalsandfumesaredangerous;never
enterthetankorplaceyourheadoverorinthe
openingofatank.
•Toensurethattheentiremachineisingood
condition,keepallhardwareproperlytightened.
•Toreducethepotentialforre,keeptheengine
areafreeofexcessivegrease,chemicals,grass,
leaves,anddirt.
•Ifyoumustruntheenginetoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keepyourhands,feet,
clothing,andanypartsofyourbodyawayfrom
theengineandanymovingparts.Keepeveryone
away.
•Donotadjustthegroundspeedofthemachine.T o
ensuresafetyandaccuracy,haveanauthorized
Torodistributorcheckthegroundspeed.
•Ifthemachinerequiresamajorrepairoryou
needtechnicalhelp,contactanauthorizedT oro
distributor.
•Modifyingthismachineinanymannermayaffect
machineoperation,performance,durability,orits
use,andresultininjuryordeath.Suchusecould
voidtheproductwarranty.
•Supportthemachinewithjackstandswhenever
youworkunderthemachine.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
