Troubleshooting the COM1000
Problem/ Condition
Possible Interpretations
What to do
PWR LED continues to flash
for more than 2 minutes after
reboot
Card is still searching for guide.
Communication with card may be
unreliable until guide data is
acquired.
If the current weather conditions are
favorable, it is recommended that the
installer revisit the RF installation
guidelines.
Tuner LED is unlit /
SNR = 0 / AGC = -140
Tuner is not locked to a channel.
Card rebooted with “Persistent” field
set to „0‟.
Possible RF problems.
Possible guide acquisition problems.
Attempt to retune to the channel.
Make sure “Persistent” field is set to „1‟.
Revisit the RF installation guidelines.
SNR = 5/ AGC = -17
Inadequate RF quality level.
Signal strength is too high.
As these conditions could lead to card
instability, it is recommended that the
installer revisit the RF installation
guidelines.
Tuner LED is lit, but orange
LED on the Ethernet flashes
slowly
Card is not streaming video.
Card is attempting to send to an
unreachable IP address.
Possible authorization problem.
Verify that the destination IP and port
number values are correct.
Check the CAM log for authorization
problems. If found, tune to channel 100
and attempt reauthorization.
Tuner LED is blinking
Tuner is locked but no video packets
are being sent.
Possible authorization problem.
Check the CAM log for authorization
problems. If found, tune to channel 100
and attempt reauthorization.
All three LEDs are blinking
once a second
The RID is outside of the expected
range.
Software before 02.07.03 was loaded
on new cards with a RID that didn‟t
start with 0300.
Send card to Technicolor.
Channel = 0
Card has not fully booted yet.
An invalid Channel Object ID has
been entered.
Guide acquisition problem.
Local channel acquisition problem.
If left in this state for too long, the
card will lose authorization.
Wait for the PWR LED to stop flashing.
Reboot the card to force it to get new guide
data and then attempt to retune it.
Check the CAM log for authorization
problems. If found, tune to channel 100
and attempt reauthorization.
