5.3 UGA extensions The functionality of the French UGA system has been extended and improved. 5.3.1 Support of more UGA devices EP7F supports now 16 UGAs per ICO (8 UGAs supported up to and including EP5/EP5-Z2). 5.3.2 Simplified and more powerful programming In EP7F the common alarm field is a counter and not a binary field anymore and therefore the field clearly indicates the number of alarms in a node and all its child nodes. Conclusion: There is only 1 reference per sub-tree necessary (e.g.
5.4.2 Operation and information on larger LCD The new operating panels B3Q660/680 provide: - larger display (double size) - soft keys - improved arrangement of information for easier operation The availability of functions depends on access level, context and state of the node. The larger LCD can display: - 1 title line - 6 message lines (means 2 full messages or 6 short messages) - 1 status line - 6 soft keys This allows the simultaneous display of messages or a specific tree view and functions. 5.4.
5.4.8 Locking of ‘acknowledge’ on operating panels (Country specific function for Singapore) New option per operating panel: Upon the first ALARM message the function ‘acknowledge’ of the operating panel is completely blocked and the LED of the acknowledge key is disabled for the configured time. Afterwards the LED starts flashing again and the message(s) can be acknowledged. Range: 1..
5.4.13 Configurable quiescent display text If no message is present a pre-configured (country specific or site specific) text with max. 6 x 40 characters is displayed. 5.4.14 Structure of menu trees definable per user level For the new comfort terminal with soft keys the structure of the menu tree can be configured per user level. AlgoWorks provides a dedicated function list editor. Additionally the secondary menu functions have been better arranged. 5.4.
5.5.
5.6 Extinguishing improvements The extinguishing application has been revised and improved in many aspects. Involved are thereby CS1140/45 embedded software and E3G080 firmware. Feature / change The manual call point triggers a “normal” fire alarm if manual extinguishing is blocked. One message only if automatic and manual extinguishing are blocked New (section) message ‘extinguishing preALARM’ SW checks if automatic extinguishing release is possible – if not then the message ‘autom.
5.7.3 CB320A (CB319A) This is the input module for the connection of the collective fire detection system SynoLINE300 (industrial standard) to interactive or AnalogPLUS. The CB320A requires a separate 24V supply. It can be used in dry, dusty and wet areas. 5.7.4 DOTE1152 The new AlgoRex detector DOTE1152A is now fully supported. The multi criteria Smoke Detector DOTE1152A is using sophisticated algorithms for fire detection and an additional incorporated sensor for carbon monoxide.
5.9 i Commissioning improvements NOTE: Commissioning is a process that involves both, the embedded system as well as the SW tool AlgoWorks. Many of the commissioning improvements are also closely related to AlgoWorks. Therefore, this chapter includes also information about AlgoWorks where useful. Please see online help of AlgoWorks Station Management for a detailed description of the commissioning processes. 5.9.
5.9.4 New detector line functions Setting detector line powerless A new function at detector line level allows to switch a line completely powerless. Only one isolation message is displayed for clear information on the status. Available for interactive, AnalogPLUS, MS9i and CBA. Setting detector lines to stub forward or stub backward New functions allow to set an interactive (loop) line to ‘stub forward’ or ‘stub backward’.
5.9.10 Display of open line isolators In order to better support localization of short circuits on detector lines the devices with open line isolators generate a message on the operating panel (via element node). 5.10 Various improvements 5.10.1 Correct handling of ‘appl.
5.10.5 Improved usage of dedicated inputs and outputs Inputs and outputs for remote transmission device and reset on E3X10x usable for other applications Until now the dedicated inputs and outputs for remote transmission device and the I/O ‘reset’ on the main CPU board E3X10x could not be used for other applications. This is now possible in EP7F. Configuration of I/O's I/O's can be used in several ways: - dedicated usage (e.g. RT fire out) - for general purpose, defined by hardware construction (e.g.
5.10.11 Improved integration/connection of sub-systems New pre-configured zone ‘digital’ types - Gas warning - Extinguishing pre-alarm - Extinguishing released Support of collective lines in digital zones In addition to digital inputs EP7F also supports the evaluation of collective lines in digital zones via the element ‘EL col. det. 1’. This is particularly of help if sub-systems are connected via DC elements.
5.10.
5.10.18 New out modes for LON outputs and parallel indicators New out modes have been added to the existing out (LED) modes (off, on, slow, fast). Now, infopoint states like ‘unacknowledged’ can also be taken into account (not for DE LON out) and inversions of the existing modes are supported as well. Mode inactive Out state if the referenced infopoint is unacknowledged in any other state 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 101 102 103 5.11 off on slow fast off fast slow fast on slow fast on on slow off Removed bugs 5.
5.11.3 Re-addressing of devices on an interactive line Bug description In case of address collisions on an interactive line only 4..5 devices are re-addressed automatically by the system. This can cause problems if 2 already commissioned lines are connected together. Bug corrected in EP7F (see also 5.9.7). 5.11.
5.11.8 AVF with DO1101 (Australia only) Bug description AVF (Alarm Verification Function) does not work together with detector DO1101. After 20 seconds an alarm is evaluated because the control unit does not reset the detectors within this time. Bug corrected in EP7F. 5.11.9 Supervision time in element ‘digital’ Bug description If an input linked with an ‘EL digital’ is activated the supervision timer is started.
5.12 Restrictions and known bugs 5.12.1 CA11 operating with B3Q660/80 Restriction Operating is very slow, reaction time up to 3 seconds. 5.12.2 Function unit MS9i (E3M060) Bug description Concerning function unit MS9i E3M060: A fully operating detector line is disconnected completely (both sides of the loop). This will cause only a line fault, but not any detector faults. 5.12.
5.12.6 Australian functionality The specific Australian functionality is not fully supported with the sales release version of EP7F. 5.12.7 No support of Hebrew and Arabic texts Display of customer texts and standard texts in Hebrew and Arabic language is not supported yet. However, editing in AlgoWorks is already possible. 5.12.8 Display of “connecting” text on CT/CI During the connection phase of a station CT11 or CI11 there is a text displayed which informs the user about the status.
6 AlgoWorks Software Toolset AlgoWorks EP7F now runs on Microsoft Windows NT4 or 2000 (see also chapter 2.1.2). It consists of two main components, the Site Management (SIM – the former SMS- and Shell-functionality) and the Station Management and diagnosis component (SAM – the former SWE and SWD). If the AlgoWorks is started the Site Management appears. An opened station will be represented in the Station Management, which includes the capability for configuration, parameterization and diagnosis.
Support of 3rd party variants For the protection of the Siemens project business, a separate 3rd party version of the tool is supplied. For 3rd party, also specific Base Data Variants can be created. This makes it possible to prevent 3rd party companies from editing or uploading data of sites that were created or are maintained by Siemens. 6.2 Site Management 6.2.1 Introduction A completely new and much improved Site Management is provided with AlgoWorks EP7F.
6.2.4 Converter Automatic conversion to new tree structure In EP7F, the structure of the physical tree has substantially changed in respect to older EP versions. The EP7F converter performs the necessary steps to remodel the physical tree according to the new structure. Use of Country Defaults To decide whether or not a value has been edited (and therefore must be kept during the conversion process) it is compared by the converter to the country default and no longer to the system default (meta data).
6.3 Station Management 6.3.1 Enhanced Node Editor Fields are arranged on different tabs The fields of the selected node are arranged on different tabs in the node editor according to functionality. Special tab for ‘Events’ Events (info points and associated fields as ‘infoclass’, ‘V2’, ..) are displayed in an event-oriented way on a separate, specific tab. Improved field specific data types It is no longer required to consult the help in order to find out the meaning for a certain parameter.
6.3.3 Customer text handling Enhanced editing capabilities Customer texts may be entered in the dialog that is used when a new node is created. It is possible to remember the last customer text so it will be used for all nodes created subsequently. Customer texts can also be edited directly in the logical or physical tree. Memory of latest customer texts The last 100 customer texts are stored in memory and can be re-used from within both the create dialog and the node editor.
Improved fault upload The fault upload has been completely reworked. It is much faster now, even over a modem connection. The erroneous nodes as well as all affected nodes are clearly marked: - erroneous nodes (“sources” of the faults): marked yellow - path to such nodes and nodes which are affected by the fault (e.g. logical zones/elements → geographical part which is not (properly) protected because of the fault): marked blue.
6.3.8 Filter It is possible to set one of the following filters: - all unlinked nodes - all nodes that have no customer text - all nodes that are not localized. The nodes that are found are marked in the tree. This makes it a lot easier to ensure that work on a station is complete. 6.3.9 Consistency checks There are a large number of checks that help finding some of the most common or critical errors in the configuration. The affected nodes can be jumped to by a simple double-click.
6.6 Restrictions / known bugs 6.6.1 16bit characters not fully supported in path and directory names 16bit characters must not be used in path and directory names of the AlgoWorks installation. Otherwise, conversion of EP4 (or older) sites to EP7F is not possible. Therefore, in Asian countries that are using 16bit character sets, AlgoWorks must be installed in a separate path using 8bit characters only! 6.6.
7 CT11 Visualizer 7.1 Introduction Until now, the existing SW tool ‘CT11 Visualizer’ was not a sellable product. It was a supporting tool for product presentations and training. The new SW tool ‘CT11 Visualizer’ provided with EP7F is now officially a sellable product. It is a completely new application that has been improved in many aspects compared to the existing tool. 7.

9 Update of already existing (field test) sites EP7F - It is mandatory, that all (field test) sites realised before FG4 - i.e. with preliminary hard- and software – MUST be updated to official versions within reasonable time. - Divisional units involved in field-testing will be contacted directly with all necessary details regarding exchange of hardware and software. 10 CK11 Gateway 10.
10.4 DMS7000 telegram specification A new edition of the DMS7000 telegram specification document provides the complete overview of all telegrams used in EP7F. Numbered and individual copies of this document are available from FSP under the conditions of a licence agreement. 10.5 Versions and compatibility 10.5.1 Gateway software i Above CK11 software versions must only be used in combination with the AlgoRex embedded software version EP7F on the same C-Bus.
10.6 New and changed features 10.6.1 Support of new C-Bus connection model C-Bus population With EP7F, all fixed limits per station type have been removed and the maximum number of stations (CC11, CI11, CT11, CK11) has been extended. However, the total number of C-Bus participants is still 16. See chapter 4.3 for more details. Visibility settings For CK11 stations sitting on a C-Bus, the same area visibility assignment mechanisms as for CT11 stations now apply as well.
Areas from C-Bus station no. 1 must not be split up across more than one gateway CK11! The main reason to use several CK11 per C-Bus is quantity restrictions. See chapter 10.7 for more details. For special applications this flexibility may also be used to reduce the number of points lost in the potential failure case of a single CK11, or to propagate the same information to several independent management networks or -stations.
10.6.3 Propagation of emergency alarms The AlgoRex stations and the C-Bus (using extra bus wiring) support the propagation of emergency (degrade) alarms in case of a single system fault. The CK11 now correctly transmits such emergency alarms also to the management system. 10.6.4 Smart reconnect Up to EP5, a C-Bus connection loss to a CC11 station always caused a complete rebuild of the process image in the CK11 after the reconnect.
11 Update 1 The AlgoWorks update 1 includes different changes, so the following packages are included: - AlgoWorks setup 1.32.0AB (Patch B) BDV setup version ‘BDV Package EP7F_J0_730_08’ Standard Embedded Software packages 734-1 Additional and changed documents 11.1 AlgoWorks version 1.32.0AB-000 (Patch B) The AlgoWorks setup version 1.32.0AB (Patch B) is a full setup with update capability.
