2. The V-belt tension is proper if the V-belt bends 10 to 15 mm
(Figure 8) when depressed with finger at midway between
the clutch and vibration pulley shafts.

V-Belt Check
CAUTION:
NEVER attempt to check the V-belt with the
engine running. Severe injury can occur of
your hand (Figure 6) gets caught between the
V-belt and the clutch. Always use safety gloves.

1. To check the V-belt tension, remove the three bolts that
secure the belt cover to the frame as shown in Figure 7.

3. A loose V-belt will decrease the power transmission output,
causing reduced compaction and premature wear of the
belt.
4. If the V-belt becomes worn or loose, replace it by using V-
belt part number 070503350
