6. The volume cannot be used as the Cnt Ac-J P-VOL if the specified journal was registered when 2DC Cascade was
enabled.
7. When a THP V-VOL is used as a pair volume shared by Business Copy and Cnt Ac-J, the Cnt Ac-J create pair
operation can fail. For more information on how to ensure against failure, see the bullet on THP V-VOLs and Business
Copy in “Thin Provisioning ” (page 120).

NOTE: Continuous Access Synchronous and Business Copy volumes are used extensively with
Continuous Access Journal. See “Configurations with Continuous Access Synchronous” (page 124)
and “Configurations with Business Copy” (page 137) for more information.
Cache Residency
CR volumes can be used as Continuous Access Journal pair’s P-VOLs and S-VOLs.
You can perform CR operations on a Continuous Access Journal pair’s P-VOL and S-VOL.
CR volumes cannot be used as journal volumes.
Data Retention
You can create a Continuous Access Journal pair using volumes that have been assigned the access
attribute by the Data Retention. However, you cannot specify a volume with the "S-VOL Disable"
attribute as a Continuous Access Journal S-VOL.
The following table shows whether the access attribute can be changed or referenced.
