Version 8.0.0-00 Description This package is the initial release of HP XP7 Tiered Storage Manager 8.0.0-00. For details, see “Enhancements” (page 3). For previous behaviors resolved in this release, see “Fixes” (page 4). Update recommendation HP recommends updating to HP XP7 CVAE 8.0.0-00. Superseded version 7.6.
• Device Manager now supports HP XP7 Storage. • The Tiered Storage Manager server, GUI, and CLI now support Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft WIndows 8.1. • Tiered Storage Manager now supports a relocation speed adjustment function for Smart Pools of HP XP7 Storage in the following dialog boxes: • ◦ Create Pool dialog box ◦ Edit Pool dialog box Tiered Storage Manager no longer supports the GUI in Legacy mode. Fixes The following issues were resolved in 8.0.
Specifying is not or <> in filter conditions When is not or <> is specified in a filter condition for one of the following columns in a window that lists parity groups, volumes, or Data Placement Profiles, data that does not meet the filter conditions may be displayed.
If this occurs, adjust datetime in From to accommodate the information on profile operation history in the performance chart. Estimated time for the search inconsistency task (search inconsistent data placement profile task) The estimated time of a search inconsistency task is not displayed. Storage system links in the Mobility tab When a link concerning the following storage systems is clicked on the volume list of the logical group, a KAIC16850-E error dialog box is displayed.
In Domain Ctrl, the display format of the storage system is ::. • Using the CLI: Refer to the controllerName value in the output of the GetStorageDomains -d command. Mozilla 1.7.13 (HP-UX 11i v3) support If the Tiered Storage Manager GUI uses Mozilla 1.7.13 in HP-UX 11i v3 for PA-RISC, the IPv6 protocol cannot be used to communicate with the Tiered Storage Manager server.
Executing a migration task in Legacy mode or by the Tiered Storage Manger CLI When creating the migration task, do not specify a volume specified in another unfinished migration task for a source or target. Data migration by using volumes that are applied data placement profiles Volumes to which data placement profiles are applied cannot be used as source volumes or target volumes for data migration.
Executing data migration In the display window, check the task status and do the following: • If the executed migration task is not displayed in the task list, execute the operation again. If the error occurs repeatedly, try specifying conditions that decrease the number of volumes satisfying those conditions. • If the KAIC15001-E message is displayed when a Migration Task Details window of the executed migration task is displayed, delete the migration task. Execute the operation again.
