vparadmin - modifies attributes for the virtual partition flexible administrative capability

Platform Support Remarks
vparadmin is not supported on systems with Onboard Administrator (OA) based partition
management.
On systems with OA based partition management, vparadmin
functionality is replaced by
parperm(1M).
DESCRIPTION
The
vparadmin command is used to add or delete a Designated-Admin vPar. It can also be used to
change the virtual partition flexible administrative password.
Options are valid when the virtual partition flexible administrative capability is enabled.
Options
vparadmin recognizes the following command line options and arguments. The options are mutually
exclusive.
-a vp_name Adds the virtual partition vp_name to the Designated-Admin vPar list in a secure virtual
partition environment. It will prompt for the existing virtual partition flexible administra-
tive password before allowing the addition.
-d vp_name Deletes the virtual partition vp_name from the Designated-Admin vPar list. It will
prompt for the existing virtual partition flexible administrative password before allowing
the deletion.
-C Changes the virtual partition flexible administrative password. It will prompt for the old
password for validation.
-l Displays the Designated-Admin vPar list.
If no arguments are supplied,
vparadmin indicates whether the virtual partition flexible administrative
capability is enabled or disabled.
SECURITY RESTRICTIONS
This command is restricted to processes owned by a superuser.
RETURN VALUE
The
vparadmin command exits with one of the following values:
0 Successful completion.
1 One or more error conditions occurred.
EXAMPLES
Use vparadmin without any options:
vparadmin
The virtual partition fle xible administrative capability is disabled.
Add the name of the virtual partition called
Oslo to the Designated-Admin vPar list:
vparadmin -a Oslo

To change the virtual partition flexible administrative password:
vparadmin -C

vPar flexible administrative password successfully changed.
