NAME
io_cdsf_config - communicate with the cluster device special file daemon (iocdsfd) and display cluster dev-
ice special files
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/io_cdsf_config -c
/usr/sbin/io_cdsf_config -h
/usr/sbin/io_cdsf_config -q
/usr/sbin/io_cdsf_config -s
/usr/sbin/io_cdsf_config -v
DESCRIPTION
The io_cdsf_config
command provides a set of options that can be used to communicate with the
cluster device special file daemon
iocdsfd on a particular node.
Cluster device special files provide a consistent set of device special files across a set of cluster nodes. The
cluster device special files of a LUN will be the same on any node in a specified set of nodes that share the
LUN. The set of cluster nodes across which cluster device special files need to be created can be specified
using the command
cmsetdsfgroup.
(see cmsetdsfgroup(1M)).
The cluster device special file daemon
iocdsfd is responsible for creating the cluster device special files
across a cluster. The user must execute
cmsetdsfgroup [-n node_name][-n node_name]...
to initiate cluster device special file creation. Cluster device special file daemon
iocdsfd creates the
block and character device special files in the /dev/cdisk and /dev/rcdisk directories, respectively.
Cluster device special file creation requires the patch to Serviceguard A.11.20 that contains the cluster-
wide device special file (cDSF) enhancement, and possibly other dependent patches. See the latest ver-
sion of the HP Serviceguard A.11.20 Release Notes for more information.
io_cdsf_config recognizes the following options
•
io_cdsf_config -c is used to display conflicting device special files. A cluster device special file is
said to be conflicting if the same disk device has different cluster device special files on different nodes.
See the Conflict Resolution section for more details.
•
io_cdsf_config -q
displays the cluster device special files.
•
io_cdsf_config -s
displays the stability of the cluster device special file daemon iocdsfd.
•
io_cdsf_config -h is used to display the usage of
io_cdsf_config.
Options
-c Displays the conflicting device special files. A cluster device special file is said to be conflicting if
the same disk has different cluster device special files on different nodes. See the Conflict Reso-
lution section for more details.
If there are no conflicts, the
-c option returns the message below:
io_cdsf_config: No conflicting device special files detected.
-q Display cluster device special files. The display format of this option is as follows:
cdsf_name: /dev/rcdisk/disk37
class: disk
members:
name: node_name1
name: node_name2
uniq_name: 0x01.0x00.0x03.0x600508b400055c110001000000a20000
If -q is invoked when conflicting device special files are present on the system, then the -q
option displays the messages below:
io_cdsf_config: Conflicting device special files detected.
Resolve conflicts using the method mentioned in io_cdsf_config(1M)
manpage.
