NAME
evfstab - static information about EVFS encrypted volume maps
SYNOPSIS
/etc/evfs/evfstab
DESCRIPTION
The evfstab file contains descriptive information about EVFS (Encrypted Volume and File System)
volumes. It also contains information that maps the EVFS volumes to the underlying LVM, VxVM, or
physical volumes.
Each encrypted volume is described on a separate line; fields on each line are separated by tabs or spaces.
The order of records in
evfstab is important, because other commands and subsystems sequentially
iterate through evfstab for their operations.
This configuration file contains mapping information for encrypted volume. The format for each entry is
as follows:
type device_file evfs_device_ file [user
.keyname][options]
The fields are used as follows:
type The first field specifies the encryption mode used:
v indicates volume-level encryption (EVS),and
f indicates file-level encryption (EFS).
This field is mandatory.
device_file The second field specifies the block device file of the underlying LVM, VxVM, or phy-
sical volume for the EVFS volume. This field is mandatory.
evfs_device_file The third field specifies the block device file for the EVFS volume. This field is
mandatory.
user
.keyname (EVS only.) The fourth field is a combination of a user name and a key name, also
referred to as a key ID.
Note that the user and key names are separated with a period only. This field is
required to enable or disable the EVFS volume in non-interactive mode, such as
when using the autostart feature or when enabling the volumes using Serviceguard
control scripts.
options (EVS only.) The fifth field is an optional field. The valid values are:
boot_local Use the autostart feature and automatically enable this
volume at system startup time, before networking is started and
before file systems in the /etc/fstab file are mounted. The
key files and stored passphrase must be stored on the local root
disk.
boot_local2 Use the autostart feature and automatically enable this
volume at system startup time, before networking is started but
after file systems in the /etc/fstab file are mounted. If a file
system exists on this EVFS volume, you must manually mount it
after system startup time. The key files and stored passphrase
must be stored on a local disk, but do not have to be on the root
disk.
boot_remote Use the autostart feature and automatically enable this
volume at system startup time, after networking is started. If a
file system exists on this EVFS volume, you must manually
mount it after system startup time. Use this option is used
when the key files are stored on a remote system, such as files
located on an NFS-mounted directory.
no_auto Do not use the autostartfeature.
