cprop_healthtest(1) cprop_healthtest(1)
NAME
cprop: cprop_healthtest - perform health tests on targeted devices
SYNOPSIS
/opt/propplus/bin/cprop
command [option ]
Remarks
These health test options to the
cprop
command are enabled for devices that have a healthtest asso-
ciated with them. See cprop (1) for a description of
cprop without the healthtest feature.
DESCRIPTION
The
healthtest feature provides additional cprop options to perform health tests on certain devices.
A device is one of the instances of a component. Therefore, specifying a component denotes all the device
instances of the component. HashId identifies an instance of device and can be listed by the
-summary
command.
Health tests are only associated with some components. Use the
listtest command to see if a health
test is associated with a particular component.
Note that health tests are supported for all the devices that are assigned to the host of HP-UX Virtual
Partitions 6.x, but not supported for the devices that are assigned to the guests of HP-UX Virtual Parti-
tions 6.x.
Command Options
-listtest
The -listtest command displays the types of tests available. The different -listtest com-
mand usages are as follows:
-listtest
Displays the basic test available for all of the instances of all of the components and the list of
instances that the basic test supports.
-listtest -a
Displays all the tests available for all the instances of all the components and the list of
instances that the tests support.
-listtest -c component_name
Displays the basic test available for all the instances of the specified component.
-listtest -c component_name
-a
Displays all the tests available for all the instances of the specified component.
-listtest -d component_name
:HashId
Displays the basic test available for the component’s specific instance which is denoted by the
hash ID.
-listtest -d component_name:HashId -a
Displays all the tests available for the component’s specific instance which is denoted by the
hash ID.
-runtest
The runtest command is used to perform the healthtest available on the system.
By default the
runtest command waits until the invoked tests are completed. With the nowait
option, the runtest command quits immediately after invoking the requested test and the test will
be executed in the background. If you want to run multiple tests at the same time, specify this
option.
Each invoked test will result in a jobID which identifies a unique invoked test.
The different
-runtest command usages are as follows:
-runtest
[-loop loop_count | -error error_count | -timer time_out | -log log_level
| -stress stress_level ]...[-nowait]
Runs the basic test on all the instances of all of the supported components.
If the options, such as
-loop, -error, -timer, -log, and -stress are not specified, the
basic test runs on all the instances of the supported components with default settings.
