4 Pry loose the left side of the base-cover assembly from the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
5 14 Slide the base-cover assembly to the right and release it from the HDMI and USB ports.
6 Carefully turn over the base-cover assembly. 1 7 base-cover assembly 2 palm-rest and keyboard assembly Remove the I/O board.

6 Turn the computer over, open the display, and press the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.

5 Ensure there is a gap between the mylar and the palm rest and keyboard assembly. 1 mylar 2 palm rest and keyboard assembly 6 Adhere the tape to the touch pad. 7 Slide the touch-pad cable into the connector on the touch pad and close the latch to secure the cable.
