INCLUDED IN THE BOX AC CHARGING CORD AC cord to charge from mains power supply. Charge at home before use. PLEASE NOTE: After purchasing your PowerTop, place it on AC charge to fully charge before use. Think of your PowerTop like a new mobile phone, always charge before use. Tricolour Anderson Plugs (included) POWERTOP SIDE The Baintech Anderson plug is designed to lock securely together and provide a solid connection between two cables. Rated for 50A.
CHARGING Important note: PowerTop must be ON for charging (See page 5 for on/off location) Internal AC charger The PowerTop comes with an internal 6.6A AC charger. The charger operates when the AC plug is connected into the unit. When charging with the inbuilt AC charger: 1) Disconnect PowerTop unit from all loads and turn OFF unit 2) Connect the AC plug from 240V AC source to the unit. 3)Turn ON the PowerTop Unit- Mains LED will turn ON- Leave charging until full.
HOW TO RECOGNIZE WHEN YOUR POWERTOP IS CHARGED AC Input Air Vent The PowerTop when fully charged will have a voltmeter reading of 12.8-13.2 volts on the LCD display. It is recommended to place it on charge after purchasing and every 21-28 days or so if kept in storage for any period. No need to leave it on indefinitely ( ie: float charging as it’s called ) - as this will shorten the battery life.
UNREGULATED SOLAR DC CHARGING Important note: PowerTop must be ON for charging (See page 5 for on/off location) IMPORTANT NOTE: DC On/Off Switch must be ON for charging (see page 3 for switch location). If you want to connect a DC charging source that is unregulated, for example a 12V PV panel (36 Cell) without a regulator it must be connected to the Red Anderson Connector input labelled Solar/External Charge.
REGULATED SOLAR DC CHARGING IMPORTANT NOTE: DC On/Off Switch must be ON for charging ( see page 3 for switch location) Important note: PowerTop must be ON for charging (See page 5 for on/off location) the solar is supplied solar charge controller you an external solarcontroller charge controller they must If theIfsolar panelpanel is supplied with awith solaracharge controller or you or have anhave external solar charge they must meet the meetrequirements: the following requirements: following • 20A maximum

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have an external DC-DC charger they must meet the following requirements: If you have an external DC-DC charger they must meet the following requirements: • •25A20A MAXIMUM charge current maximum charge current • Boost 14.2v • Bulk 14.2V • Float 13.7v • Float 13.
Vehicle LED Operation The Vehicle LED will turn on when the voltage on the Blue Anderson input is above 13.2V and will turn off when the voltage goes below 13.2V. Vehicle LED Operation LED INDICATORS AND AUDIBLE ALARM The Vehicle LED will turn on when the voltage on the Blue Anderson input is above 13.2V and will IMPORTANT: Keep the PowerTop fully toV.maintain battery at optimum capacity. turn off when voltage goescharged below 13.
LOAD CONNECTION Important note: PowerTop must be ON for LOAD CONNECTION IMPORTANT NOTE: DC On/Off switch must be ON for load connections. The Grey Anderson connector load output is protected by a 50A self-resettable thermal breaker. Maximum recommended load as a guide is under 500W, dependent on ambient temperature. Loads can also be connected to the following 12V DC Power sockets: • • • Ciga Engel x2 x2 Maximum load/Socket 10A Maximum load/Socket 10A USB x2 Maximum load/Socket 5V/2.
DO’S AND DONT’S DO’S: 1. Do fully charge the PowerTop before using it for the first time. 2. Do charge the battery immediately if the warning alarm comes on. The warning comes on once below 12 Volts. It is good practice not to let the battery remain below 12 Volts without recharging. 3. Do keep the PowerTop fully charged to maintain battery at optimum capacity. Repeated deep cycling (deeply discharging the battery) reduces battery life.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: 1. How do I charge the Power Top when the battery is dead? You have to charge the Power Top through an external charger through the Grey Anderson plug. The CTEK MXS15 (CT15000/12) is the recommended charger for the Power Top. 2. Can I jump-start my car from the PowerTop? The PowerTop is not designed to jump-start a car. The unit has a 50amp current limit inside which is not enough to jump-start a vehicle. 3.
