Fool Proof is an upright, compact variation of the popular Frost Proof gardenia. In the spring, Fool Proof buds out and produces double, white flowers that will fill your landscape with fragrance. Once those flowers drop, this gardenia will bud up again and rebloom through fall. This gardenia has elongated foliage that emerges a light kelly green that matures to a darker hue. It matures to 3 ft. to 4 ft. tall x 3 ft. W, making it a great hedge, mass planting, border or mixed bed. Fool Proof is hardy in USDA zones 7 TO zones 9. Plant it in the full sun to achieve an optimal bloom. This gardenia prefers acidic well-drained soil. You can fertilize your gardenia in early spring and again in the summer with a fertilizer meant for acid-loving plants.
