The Motorola DS6708-DL20007ZZR Multi DL barcode reader is black, contains a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, and can be used to scan and decode linear one-dimensional (1D), two-dimensional (2D), and Portable Document Format 417 (PDF417) barcodes and retrieve information from a driver's license. A 650-nanometer (nm) laser produces lines of light in an omnidirectional pattern to scan barcodes at different angles. An integrated 1.3-megapixel digital camera can be used to take digital pictures and scan documents. An embedded parsing agent enables the barcode reader to retrieve information from the PDF417 barcode on a U.S. driver's license. The scan window is made of tempered glass for strength. A cable (sold separately) and on-board interfaces can be used to connect the barcode reader to a computer or host system.
