Adjust the spark gap just wide enough so it will not arc and attach the ground wire to a ground stake. Set a 2nd Lightning Diverter 200-feet from the fence charger and a 3rd if you are in. a Lightning prone area. The Lightning will now be directed to the ground two or three times before it has a chance to reach your fence charger.
