USB <-> NAS
When you synchronize files in bot h directions sim ult aneously, both storage devices t ransfer unique
files t o one anot her. Files wit h t he sam e file nam e are synchronized according t o t heir m odification
dat e/ t im e. The difference in m odification t im e between the t wo files has t o be greater t han five
m inut es. More recently m odified files overwrit e t he older ones during synchronization.
The following figure illust rates how synchronization works when you synchronize files in bot h
direct ions sim ult aneously.

A on the USB device and B on t he NAS are m odified m ore recent ly.
• File A from t he USB device replaces file A on the NAS.
• File B from t he NAS replaces file B on t he USB device.
• A copy of file C from the USB device is t ransferred to t he NAS.
• A copy of file D from t he NAS is t ransferred to t he USB device.
17.12 Syslog Server Screen
Use t his screen to configure t he NAS t o accept syslog logs from syslog clients such as ZyXEL’s G-
4100 v2.
Note: You m ay need to configure any firewalls bet ween t he NAS and the syslog client s in
order t o let the syslog t raffic go t o the NAS.
