14.6.4 Accessing a Share From Windows Explorer
I f you m ap a NAS share ( where data is stored) to a Windows net work drive, you can use Windows
Explorer t o t ransfer files t o and from t he NAS as if it was anot her folder on your com put er. Here he
m aps Jim m y’s share t o Jim m y’s com put er.
1 St art Window s Explorer and go t o the NAS’s server nam e. The default is ‘nas’ followed by t he
num ber of your m odel (‘nas5 4 0 ’ for exam ple) .
2 Click Tools > M ap N etw or k D rive .
3 Select t he net work drive t hat you want t o m ap t he NAS to from t he Drive list box. This exam ple
uses I . Then browse t o and select t he share on the NAS. Click Fin ish .
