10.5.5.1 Adding a Port Mapping Rule
Som e I nt ernet gat eways will delet e all UPnP m appings aft er reboot . So if t he I nternet gat eway
reboots, you m ay need t o re-apply t he UPnP port m apping again. Click UPnP Port M apping > Add
to add NAS services and create port m apping rules.
Select t he services you want to create port m apping rules for, and click Apply t o add t he services.
Click Ca ncel t o close the screen wit hout saving any sett ing.
WAN Port When you enable one of t he NAS’s services, specify the port num ber (1~ 65,535) I nternet
uses need t o use t o connect t o t he I nt er net gateway’s WAN port in order t o access the
service on t he NAS. Whoever wants t o access a ser vice on t he NAS from the I nternet m ust
use this port num ber.
Make sure t here is not anot her service using TCP prot ocol with the sam e port num ber.
I f anot her device is using t he same port ( the I nt ernet gat eway has t he sam e port num ber
m apped to anot her LAN I P addr ess) , t he NAS overw rit es it when you apply t he set ting and
WAN users can no longer access t he ot her device.
Apply Click Apply t o save y our changes back t o t he NAS.
Reset Click Reset t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
