The screen is designed so that light can pass through, but not the m icrow ave. 3. D oor hook - W hen the door is closed, it w ill autom atically shut. If the door is opened w hile the oven is operating, the m agnetron will im m ediately stop operating. 4. O ven cavity 5.
INSTALLATION 1. Steady, flat location This m icrow ave oven should be set on a steady, flat surface. This m icrow ave oven is designed for counter top use only. 2. Leave space behind and side A ll air vents should be kept a clearance. If all vents are covered during operation, the oven m ay overheat and, eventually, cause failure. 3. A w ay from radio and TV sets Poor television reception and radio interference may result if the oven is located close to a TV, radio, antenna or feeder and so on.
OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS 1. C onnect the m ain lead to an electrical outlet. 2. A fter placing the food in a suitable container, open the oven door and put it on the glass tray. The glass tray m ust alw ays be in place during cooking. 3. C lose the door securely. 4. C hoose cooking pow er level by setting V.P.C knob to the desired position. R efer to cookbook for recom m ended power levels. 5. D eterm ine cooking tim e. C onsult cookbook for recipe tim ing.
DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY Cautions to be observed when trouble shooting U nlike m any other appliances, the m icrow ave oven is high-voltage, high-current equipm ent. It is com pletely safe during norm al operation. H ow ever, carelessness in servicing the oven can result in an electric shock or possible danger from a short circuit. You are asked to observe the follow ing precautions carefully. 1. A lw ays rem ove the pow er plug from the outlet before servicing. 2.
DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY 1. To rem ove cabinet 1) R em ove three screws on cabinet back. 2) P ush the cabinet backw ard. 2. To rem ove door assem bly 1) R em ove a screw w hich secure the stopper hinge top. 2) R em ove the door assem bly from top plate of cavity. 3) R everse the above for reassem bly. NOTE A fter replacing the door assem bly, perform a check of correct alignm ent w ith the hinge and cavity front plate. 3. To rem ove door parts (1) K OR -63B 50S REF.

DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY 1) R em ove the screw which secure the control panel, push up tw o snap fits and draw forw ard the control panel assem bly. 2) R em ove the door open lever from the control panel. 3) R em ove tw o screw s w hich secure the tim er assem bly. 4) R em ove the tim er assem bly. 5) P ull out the tim er knob from the tim er. 6) P ull out the tim er coupler from the tim er. 7) R em ove the screw which secure the V.P.C coupler. 8) P ull out the V.P.C coupler, V.P.
DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY NOTE N ever install the m agnetron w ithout the m etallic gasket plate w hich is packed with each m agnetron to prevent m icrow ave leakage. W henever repair w ork is carried out on m agnetron, check the m icrow ave leakage. It shall not exceed 4m W /cm 2 for a fully assem bled oven w ith door norm ally closed. 8. To rem ove w ind guide assembly 1) R em ove a screw for earthing. 2) R em ove the noise filter from the w ind guide.
INTERLOCK MECHANISM AND ADJUSTMENT The door lock m echanism is a device w hich has been specially designed to com pletely elim inate m icrow ave radiation w hen the door is opened during operation, and thus to perfectly prevent the danger resulting from the leakage of m icrow ave. 1. Primary interlock sw itch W hen the door is closed, the hook locks the oven door. If the door is not closed properly, the oven w ill not operate. W hen the door is closed, the hook pushes the button of the m icroswitch.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE Following the procedures below to check if the oven is defective or not 1. C heck grounding before checking trouble. 2. B e careful of the high voltage circuit. 3. D ischarge the high voltage capacitor. 4. W hen checking the continuity of the sw itches, fuse or high voltage transform er, disconnect one lead w ire from these parts and then check continuity w ith the A C plug rem oved. To do otherw ise m ay result in a false reading or dam age to your m eter.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE Does the fan m otor work when you shut the door and turn the timer? YE S NO Does the oven lam p light? Does the turntable turn? Replace or repair oven lamp, turntable motor. YE S Norm al reading should be approx. 0Ω If m icrowave do not oscillate, check continuity of filament of m agnetron. NO Continuity Check continuity filament tap (3.3V) of high voltage. NO Continuity Replace high voltage transform er.
MEASUREMENT AND TEST 1. MEASUREMENT OF THE MICROWAVE POWER OUTPUT M icrowave output pow er can be checked by indirectly m easuring the tem perature rise of a certain am ount of w ater exposed to the m icrow ave as directed below. PROCEDURE 1. M icrow ave pow er output m easurem ent is m ade w it the m icrow ave oven supplied at rated voltage and operated at its m axim um m icrow ave pow er setting w ith a load of 1000 ± 5cc of potable w ater. 2.
MEASUREMENT AND TEST 2. MICROWAVE RADIATION TEST WARNING M ake sure to check the m icrow ave leakage before and after repair of adjustm ent. A lw ays start m easuring of an unknow n field to assure safety for operating personnel from m icrow ave energy. D o not place your hands into any suspected m icrow ave radiation field unless the safe density level is known. C are should be taken not to place the eyes in direct line w ith the source of m icrow ave energy.
MEASUREMENT AND TEST 3. COMPONENT TEST PROCEDURE H igh voltage is present at the high voltage term inal of the high voltage transform er during any cooking cycle. It is neither necessary nor advisable to attem pt m easurem ent of the high voltage. B efore touching any oven com ponents or w iring, alw ays unplug the oven from its pow er source and discharge the capacitor. 1. H igh voltage transform er (1) R em ove connections from the transform er term inals and check continuity.
