Do not use on or near any unimproved, forest covered, or brush covered land unless the exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester meeting applicable local, state, or federal laws. In the state of California, a spark arrester is required by law. Other states have similar laws. A spark arrester, if used, must be maintained in effective working order by the operator.

There are two bearings, one outside and the other inside the housing . The bearings are greased when they are new, but it is recommended to grease them after a couple hours of use. One or two pumps is sufficient. Be careful not to over grease. Over lubrication can damage the bearings. Grease the outside bearing 1. O pen the plastic oil plug. (See Figure 11) 2. When the knives get dull or show 18 mm visible nicks, the machine will lose its self- feeding action and the material has to be pushed in. Often it comes out in long strips. STORAGE If your chipper shredder will not be used for more than 30 days, follow the steps below to prepare your unit for storage : 5.
