5 Ignition coil malfunction
(Check the continuity of pri-
mary coil.)
Ignition coil inspection
method
Refer to “CHECKING THE
IGNITION COIL” on page 8-
134.
Start and idle the engine for
approximately 5 seconds.
Then, check the fault code
indication.
No fault code indicated.
Recovered.
Fault code indicated.
Check the next step.
6 ECU malfunction Check in the diagnostic mode
(Code No. d:30).
If not ignited, replace the
defective ECU.

turns manually and enter the
speed pulse: The pulse inte-
grated value will be added.
Indication is incorrect.
Refer to Fault code No. 42
Start and idle the engine for
approximately 10 seconds.
Then, check the fault code
indication.

Illuminates the engine trouble warning light.

Check that a spark is generated five times.
