Measure the diameter (_ of the commuta-
tor at which the brush contacts.
Out of specification_ Replace.

3. Measure:
oMica undercut @

@ Out of specification -_Scrape mica to proper
value.
Use a hacksaw blade that is ground to fit.

The mica insulation of the commutator must be
undercut to ensure proper operation of the com-
mutator.
4. Measure:
eArmature coil resistance
(insulation/continuity)
