IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust-related hazards. Only use safety equipment that has been approved by an appropriate standards agency. Unapproved safety equipment may not provide adequate protection. Eye protection must be ANSI-approved and breathing protection must be NIOSH-approved for the specific hazards in the work area.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION When the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator; If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Blades must be rated to at least the maximum speed marked on the tool. Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information. Avoid unintentional starting. Prepare to begin work before turning on the tool. DO NOT lay the tool down until it has come to a complete stop. Moving parts can grab the surface and pull the tool out of your control. When using a handheld power tool, maintain a firm grip on the tool with both hands to resist starting torque.

OPERATION ATTACHING/REPLACING THE SAW BLADE: 1. To remove or replace the saw blade (16), you will first need to remove the anchor screw (3) and the outer flange (4). 2. To do this, you will need to hold the spindle lock (9) and use the hex key (13) to loosen the arbor screw (3) (clockwise thread) and outer flange (4). 3. Raise the lower guard (11) by raising the lower guard lever (5), then remove the saw blade and place the new blade over the spindle if replacing.
OPERATION ANGLE ADJUSTMENT To adjust the angle of the cut, loosen the Angle Locking Lever (12), then slide to the degree of tilt you require and tighten to secure. IMPORTANT: Once you have adjusted the angle, ensure you have securely re-tightened the Angle Locking Lever (12) before using the tool in order to avoid damage to the tool and injury to the user.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE POCKET CUTTING: Set the depth adjustment scale (17) to the desired cutting depth, re-tighten and plug the tool back in. With the saw blade barely above the material to be cut, power up the saw and allow the tool to reach full speed. Gradually lower the blade onto the material to be cut using the front end as a pivot point. Once the blade begins to cut, release the lower guard (11) using the lower guard lever (5).
