BEFORE USING THE FRIDGE-FREEZER Your new appliance is a combined fridge-freezer exclusively for domestic use. The freezer compartment can be used for freezing fresh and cooked food, making ice cubes, and storing frozen and deep-frozen food; defrosting is a manual procedure. The refrigerator compartment, which has an automatic defrost feature, is used for the storage of fresh food and beverages. To get the most out of your new appliance, read the user handbook thoroughly.
INSTALLATION • Install the appliance away from heat sources. • Install the appliance in a dry, well-ventilated place. • Ensure that the appliance is level. Adjust the front feet if necessary. • Leave at least 5 cm clearance above the appliance. • The sides of some models are extended at the rear so the appliance can be placed directly against the rear wall. Otherwise, fit the spacers (if supplied) on the upper part of the condenser at the rear of the appliance.
HOW TO OPERATE THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT Defrosting of the refrigerator compartment is completely automatic. Switching on the appliance • Turn the knob to the position shown on the product sheet (recommended by the Manufacturer). • In appliances with two compressors, the green indicator led lights up to indicate operation of the refrigerator compartment. • Turn the knob to Off or 0 to switch off the refrigerator.
EXTRA SHELF (depending on the model) Your refrigerator is provided with extra wire shelf. It’s ideal to store bottles. • To use it, pull it frontward to the position indicated in the pictures. • When not in use, just pull it upward and then push it backward. • To remove the shelf, just slide the side locks (if available) as in the picture, and pull it toward you. • After replacing the extra shelf, slide the side locks in its original position.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT • Freezer compartment switches on simultaneously with refrigerator compartment, as shown on the product sheet. • Turn the knob to the recommended position, as shown on the product sheet. After switching on, the freezer compartment takes approximately 3 hours to reach a suitable temperature for frozen food storage. To adjust the temperature, follow the instructions in the accompanying chart.
HOW TO DEFROST THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT Defrost the freezer compartment once or twice a year, or when the ice on the walls reaches a thickness of about 3 mm. If possible, defrost the freezer when it is nearly empty. • Remove the food from the freezer, wrap in a paper and group together in a cool place or in a portable cooler. • Disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply (refrigerator compartment swithes off too). • Remove the ice-cube tray. • Remove the baskets.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Before carrying out any cleaning operations, unplug the appliance. • Clean the inside of the freezer compartment when defrosting. • Periodically clean the inside of the refrigerator compartment with a sponge dampened in warm water and/or neutral detergent. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products. • Clean the outside with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products, scourers, stain-removers (e.g. acetone, trichloroethylene) or vinegar.
