SAFETY INFORMATION • DO NOT disassemble charger; take it to an authorized service center when service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock, electrocution or fire. • Disconnect the charger from the outlet before attempting any cleaning. This will reduce the risk of electric shock. Removing the battery pack will not reduce this risk. • NEVER attempt to connect 2 chargers together.
SAFETY INFORMATION WARNING: Fire hazard. Do not store or carry battery so that metal objects can contact exposed battery terminals. SAFETY INFORMATION 3. If the battery pack does not charge properly: a. Check current at receptacle by plugging in a lamp or other appliance b. Check to see if receptacle is connected to a light switch which turns power off when you turn out the lights. c. Move charger and battery pack to a location where the surrounding air temperature is approximately 65°F - 75°F (18°- 24°C). d. If charging problems persist, take the tool, battery pack and charger to your local service center. 4.
ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE TRIMMER GUARD WARNING: Always remove the rechargeable battery from the device before all work. This product can be only fit with cutting attachment of nylon spool with line, it can not fit with metal or blade. Feed the head of the trimmer and line through the top of the guard hole. Then align the four pins (1,2,3,4) of the protective cover with the holes of the spool base drum A, B, C, D one-to-one match. Use screws provided (5) to fix them together.
OPERATION CHARGING BATTERIES WITH RAPID CHARGER WARNING: Only use 20V Westinghouse rechargeable battery packs and Westinghouse 2A Rapid Charger. 1. Plug the charging device (8) into the mains socket. 2. Make sure that the mains voltage cited on the charging station complies with the voltage supplied by your socket. The green light on the right side of the charging station will blink. 3. Slide the rechargeable battery (6) into the charging station. It can only be inserted in one position. 4.
OPERATION CHANGING TILT ANGLE Press the tilt button on the trimmer head angle adjuster (8). The trimmer head will disengage and can be pivoted into 5 different angles relative to the shaft. Make sure tilt button is locked before operating trimmer. CONVERTING TO EDGER WARNING: When being used as an Edger, stones, pieces of metal and other objects can be thrown out at high speed by the line. The trimmer and guard are designed to reduce the danger.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE REWINDING SPOOL FROM BULK LINE It is not recommended to hand rewind spool from bulk line as this leads to issues with the trimmer if it is not spooled correctly. You can purchase pre-wound spools for this model from Westinghouse dealers. MAINTENANCE • To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be performed by authorized service centers or other qualified service organizations, always using identical replacement parts.
