INTRODUCTION INTRODUZIONE The VIDEX products described in this manual can be used to make audio door phone systems to satisfy all needs. The full range of products offered by VIDEX is suitable for both one-family installations and complex systems with several doors. The various devices are carefully designed to ensure ease of installation, maintenance and use. INTERCOMS CITOFONI FOR “3+1” & “4+1” SYSTEMS Art.3101 Intercom made from white ABS shockproof plastic with “door-open” and “service” push buttons. It has 12Vac buzzer call plus electronic call tone with volume adjustable on 3 levels ( : low, medium, high). Having also the buzzer call it is fully compatible with old systems. Art.3121 Intercom made from white ABS shockproof plastic with “door-open” and “service” push buttons. It has electronic call tone with the volume adjustable on 3 levels ( : low, medium, high) and allows the “privacy of speech”.

POWER SUPPLIES ALIMENTATORI INSTALLATION Install the power supply as follows, also referring to the General Directions for Installation on page 25: - Remove the terminal side covers by unscrewing the retaining screws; - Fix the power supply to a DIN bar or directly to the wall using two expansion type screws; - Switch off the mains and then make the connections as shown on the installation diagrams; - Check the connections and secure the wires into the terminals; - Replace the terminal covers and fix them
ENSLAVEMENT RELAY MODULES MODULI RELÈ DI ASSERVIMENTO ART.506N Enslavement Relay (230Vac 5A max) enables the control of stair lights or other power peripherals. Normally used by the service push buttons. In a standard 5 modules A type Din Box (87,50 mm), can be fixed to either a DIN bar or directly to the wall using two expansion type screws (see examples of use on page 24 fig.9 and 10).
ART.509N It incorporates a modulated tone generator plus a system reset circuit. It is necessary on “4+1” audio door entry systems with privacy of speech. On systems mentioned above, the last called user is enabled to open the door and to talk with the outdoor station: when a call is received, the Art.509N temporary switch off the system disabling all intercoms then to send out the call tone which will enable only the called intercom. In a standard 5 modules A type DIN box (87,5 mm).
- The relays in the switch have two positions (“A” and “B”). To enable the switching to one of the two positions it is necessary to draw a current of about 25mA: between terminals A1-A2 for “A” position and B1-B2 for “B” position. In case of direct current the positive poles should be connected to terminals A1 and B1. - The LEDs connect to LA and LB outputs should be connected with the anode towards the output an the cathode to ground. - When the “R” terminal goes to 0V for approx.

EXTENSION MODULES Art.842, 843, 844, 845 These modules have only call buttons and the lamp for illuminating the name plates. They are combined with speaker unit modules. The number of modules and the type to use depend on the number of users on the system. Art. ACCESS CONTROL MODULES MODULI PER IL CONTROLLO ACCESSI Art.VX800N-2,VX800N-2L,VX800N-3,VX800N-3L,VX900N-2,VX900N-2L These modules have a tough keypad protected by a stainless steel front plate (available in different finishes) 2mm thick. The access control modules enable services such as door-open etc. by entering a programmable secret code (from 3 to 6 digits). The programming and the operation are simplified by visual (green LED “ACCEPT” and red LED “PROG.”) and acoustic signals.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS FOR INSTALLATION NORME GENERALI DI INSTALLAZIONE In order to achieve the best results from the schematics described it is necessary to install only original VIDEX equipment, strictly keeping to the items indicated on each schematic. CONNECTION TO MAINS The system must be installed according to national rules in force.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Depending on fault found, carry out the following preliminary checks: Measure the mains power between terminals 230V (or 127V) and 0 on power transformer or power supply; Measure voltage outputs on every transformer or power supply as shown by rating; Before replacing a fuse with another of the same value be sure there are no short circuits or overloads; Check size of cables (see page 25); Check wiring diagram.
The electric lock does not work: - Pressing the “door open” push button, check that the voltage on the electric lock terminals is higher than 10Vac; - Wrong size of cables (see page 25); - Wires to the electric lock broken or in short circuit; - Speaker unit defective; - Electric Lock defective.
Feedback (Larsen effect): - Microphone of the speaker unit or of the handset out of housing; - Adjust volumes (may be to high); - Intercom defective; - Speaker unit defective. ONE ENTRANCE WITH PROXIMITY KEY READER AUDIO DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM FOR “20” USERS (FIG.1) The figure 1 diagram shows the standard system on page 32 with the addition of an access control system (VproX) which works with coded proximity keys and the relevant reader module. The system works like the standard one but with the additional possibility to open the door from the outside simply moving close to the reader the proximity key.
