A Note about Working with Unified Communications Soft Clients
As the examples with Skype and Microsoft Lync indicate, the soft clients essentially all work the same way.
However, each of them have their own way of getting to the proverbial finish line. The language and
nomenclature is different, the file systems and drop down menus differ, but the underlying objective is to assign
the EasyUSB Mixer/Amp as the speaker and the mic for the PC to use as I/O for the soft client application.
As more examples are gathered, each of these 1-2 page TechNotes will be posted on the Vaddio website for
reference and instructional purposes.
The most important thing about interoperability with PCs and soft clients is to involve the IT
department and Network Administrators that are responsible for their company’s lifeblood (or
network). In all cases it is important to work with personnel within the IT department to ensure a
successful deployment of the EasyUSB Tools offered by Vaddio. While these products are easy
to work with, there are always a handful of “gotchas” that baffle and confound even the brightest
of amateur computer guys. Please involve the IT pros for best results.
