To season your new cooktop follow these simple steps: • • • • • • Wipe the cooktop with warm soapy water to clean it. Using a cloth or paper towel, rub the surface with oil (olive or avacado work well) making sure to cover the entire surface with a smooth, even, thin coat. Light a fire! As the fire builds, distribute the fuel (charcoal or wood) around the underside of the cooktop so the top heats fully and completely. Keep applying oil until the entire surface is blackened and seasoned.
