Installation Instructions
1. Drill a 1” hole in the face of the newel leaving 1” to 1 1/2” of material
on the back side.
2. Drill a 1/2” clearance hole through the rest of the newel.
3. Drill a 9/32” pilot hole slightly deeper than what the bolt will penetrate
into the rail or stair riser.
4. Install the washer over the bolt shaft and tighten using a 9/16” socket
wrench and extension.
5. Apply glue to the inside of the hole and tap the plug into place leaving
slightly above ush. Note: use of the Wood Glue (3020) in an easy-to-
use syringe may make this task quick and neat. Then sand ush.
Tools Needed: Socket Wrenches: 9/32”, 1/2”, 1”, 9/32” Twist Bit, 1/2”
Spade Bit, 1” Spade Bit.
