Maintaining Your Garage Mat
While Garage mats are constructed to be dirt and stain resistant, they still require regular maintenance to keep them looking their best.
Cleaning Instructions
• Vacuuming and Sweeping
Routine vacuuming, with a wet vac, is an important thing you can do to maintain the beauty of your mat.
This prevents permanent damage by keeping soil particles from working their way deep into your mat.
• Flattening and Removing Creases
Packing and shipping of your mat may cause temporary creases or kinks in your new mat. These surface waves are not imperfections or damage and will
gradually recede. You can assist in the process of flattening and removing creases by: Back-rolling or reverse rolling is the fastest and easiest way to remove
creases in your mat. These creases and waves will normally flatten-out on their own so in most cases you can simply allow ample time for your mat to settle.
• Cleaning
Periodic cleaning of the entire surface can help to maintain the appearance and extend the life of your mat. Simply hose off with water and mist with a mild
liquid soap/water solution, allow to air dry and reuse (Dawn dish soap is highly recommended however any liquid dish soap or laundry detergent will work - mix
a solution made of 3 parts water & 1 part Dawn)
In springtime, apply washing solution on soiled area found on the mat, let stand for 20 minutes then rinse off with a hose or use a wet vac and allow to air dry.
