INSTALLATION & CONNECTIONS
IMPORTANT: USE A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN FOR INSTALLATION OF THIS LIGHTING FIXTURE.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When installing or using this track system, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
a) Read all instructions.
b) Do not install this track in damp or wet locations.
c) Do not cut any track sections.
d) Do not install any part of a track system less than 7 feet above the floor.
e) Do not install any luminaire assembly closer than 6 inches from any curtain, or similar combustible material.
f) Disconnect electrical power before adding to or changing the configuration of the track.
g) Do not attempt to energize anything other than lighting track luminaires on the track. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not attempt to connect
power
tools, extension cords, appliances, and the like to the track.
h) Do not connect a track to more than one branch circuit unless the track is constructed so that it can be used with more than one branch circuit. Check with
a
qualified electrician. Although the track lighting system may seem to operate acceptably, a dangerous overload of the neutral may occur and result in a risk
of fire.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
NOTE: We recommend track supports should be marked onto ceiling after power source is installed onto junction box. Mount track into power source at desired
location and then mark where supports would be needed or are desired (approx. 20”-22” apart is suggested). Remove track, mount supports and then
re-
install track. Once first track section is installed then second track section would continue from the first track using inline connector and same tech-
nique.
TO MOUNT AND CONNECT THE TRACK CANOPY TO POWER SOURCE
1. Turn off power at main fuse box.
2. Install mounting backplate (A) to junction box with 2 screws supplied. Make sure black and white wires of junction box run through the middle opening of the
crossbar. Also be sure to install mounting backplate (A) in the proper direction onto the junction box so when the track canopy (B) is installed, the canopy
power
connection point (H) will be installed into the proper parallel position for the track direction.
3. Fasten open end of ground wire (bare copper or green wire), to ground wire or ground screw of junction box or ground screw on crossbar.
4. Connect black wire of power supply to black wire exiting the track canopy (B) and white wire of power supply to white wire exiting the track canopy (B).
NOTE: All wire connections should be made with wire nuts or marrettes (included) and pushed back into junction box.
5. Mount track canopy (B) over m ounting plate (A) and secure by fastening 2 side screws (C) supplied.
TO MOUNT CEILING SUPPORT
1. Position anchors in desired locations (approx. 20”-22” apart is suggested).
2. Mount ceiling support base (D) with wood screws (supplied) into each anchor as in Fig. 2.
3. Screw ceiling support (E) directly over the ceiling support base (D).
TO MOUNT TRACK ONTO TRACK CANOPY AND CEILING SUPPORTS
1. Mount first track section (F) over track canopy power connection point (H) making sure that the contact side of the track (with 3 linear stripes) is positioned
onto
the 3 contact teeth of the canopy power point. Carefully insert track (F) by unfastening cap (I) and opening connection point (H) as in Fig. 1. Once track has
been inserted, close power connection point (H) and while holding it tightly in position reinstall cap (I) securely.
2. Finish mounting that track section onto the remaining ceiling supports for that side starting at the next support closest to track canopy, following Fig. 2 shown
and
insert track into ceiling support opening. While holding the track in the proper position, reinstall cap (I) securely, by following the same above step mount
cap (I)
but this time over support plate (J).
3. Continue this step for the remaining ceiling supports.
4. Remove cover plate from inline connector (L) (which snaps over c onnector) and unfasten screws to loosen the 2 half sections enough to slip connector over
track
ends. Do not install onto track as of yet!
5. Install the second section of track onto the remaining ceiling supports repeating steps 2 and 3 in this section, but at t he same time insert the loosely
disassembled inline connector (L) into both open ends of track. Please ensure that the tracks are completely inserted into the inline connector and re-fasten
screws. Secure well but be careful not to over-tighten screws.
6. Snap cover plate back over inline connector.
.
GLASS AND BULB INSTALLATION
1. Mount track head glass (K) over track head (G) aligning the 3 holes of the glass onto the 3 holes of the track head socket cup. Secure into place by fastening
