Getting Started
Connecting a local printer
5.375 x 8.375 ver 2.3
You must supply the proper printer cable. If one did not come
with your printer, you may purchase one from an electronics or
computer store.
If your printer is ECP- or IEEE-compliant, make sure your
printer cable is an IEEE 1284 cable.
These instructions assume you have a parallel printer. If you
have a USB printer, consult the document that came with
your printer.
To connect the printer:
1 If the computer is on, turn it off.
2 Connect the printer cable to the printer and to the
computer’s parallel port. Use the printer cable illustration
as a connection guide.

3 Plug the printer’s power cable into a live electrical outlet.
4 See your printer documentation for additional
configuration steps.
Some printers use USB to connect.
