Connecting a DVD player with ColorStream ® (component video) and a VCR
Your TV has ColorStTeam* (component video) inputs. Connecting your TV to a DVD player with component video
(such as a Toshiba DVD player with ColorStream' ) can greatly enhance picture quality and performance.
With this connection you can:
• watch TV channels, DVDs, and videotapes
• record TV channels
• record one channel while watching the same or
another channel
You will need:
• two coaxial cables
EN _rom ANT OUT to TV
• one set of standard A/V cables from the VCR (If your
VCR has S-video, you can use an S-video cable instead
of the standard video cable. See "Note Regarding
Picture Quality" on page 7.)
• one set of component video cables from the DVD player
• one pair of standard audio cables from the DVD player
®
Note:
To watch the VCR, the TVmust select VIDEO 1 (see page 16).
To watch the D VDplayer, the TVmust select VIDEO2 (see
"Selecting the signal source" on page 16).
The ColorStream inputs on the TVare for use with DVD players
with 480iinterlaced scanning only. If you have a 480p
progressive scan DVD player, you must switch the DVD
player to 480i interlaced mode first, and then connect it to
the TV's ColorStream inputs. Failure to do this will cause a poor
picture or no picture to display.
You can connect a high-definition set-top receiver only if the
output is switched to 480i interlaced mode first. This TV will
not accept or display 480p or 720p progressive scan
signals or 1080i interlaced high-dermition signals.
