2. Check valve faces, heads and stem for de-
fects.
Look for bent valve stems and exces-
sive corrosion causing pits on valve face or
stem.
3. Replace valves with a warped head or with
less than (0.6mm)
0.02 in. margin. Valve
stem ends should be ground square before
checking valve-to-tappet clearance.
