1
Preparing the Mower
No Parts Required
Procedure
P erfor m the follo wing procedure to pre pare the
mo w er for attac hing the blo w er and finishing kit.
1. Diseng ag e the PTO , mo v e the motion control
lev ers to the neutral loc k ed position and set
the parking brak e .
2. Stop the engine , remo v e the k ey , and w ait for
all mo ving par ts to stop before lea ving the
operating position.
3. R e pair all bent or damag ed areas of mo w er
dec k and re place any missing par ts .
4. Clean the mo w er of any debris on the dec k or
rear par t of the mo w er to ease installation.

Installing the Bagger
Bracket (Z400 Mowers with
48 inch Mower Decks)
Parts needed for this step:

Bagger bracket
8
Bolt (5/16 x 1 inch),
8
Flange nut (5/16 inch)
Procedure
1. R emo v e the 8 bolts and n uts securing the rear
of the heat shield to the engine straps and rear
bumper ( Figure 4 ). Discard the bolts and n uts .
2. R emo v e the 4 bolts , w ashers and n uts securing
the sides of the heat shield to the engine
straps , tailpipe guard and bumper . R etain the
heat shield and these bolts , w ashers and n uts
( Figure 4 ).

Note: Note: Install the heat shield into the
bag g er brac k et from the front of the brac k et.
3. At an angle , inser t the top of the heat shield
under the bar of the bag g er brac k et. P osition
the bag g er bar as far as possible into the heat
shield notc hes ( Figure 5 ).

4. With the bag g er bar in the heat shield notc hes ,
push the bottom of the heat shield to w ards the
rear and past the bac k of the bag g er brac k et
( Figure 6 ).
