UsingtheSideDischarge
Themowerhasahingedgrassdeectorthat
dispersesclippingstothesideanddowntowardthe
turf.
DANGER
Withoutagrassdeector,dischargecover,or
acompletegrass-catcherassemblymounted
inplace,youandothersareexposedtoblade
contactandthrowndebris.Contactwith
rotatingmowerblade(s)andthrowndebris
willcauseinjuryordeath.
Neverremovethegrassdeectorfromthe
mowerdeckbecausethegrassdeector
routesmaterialdowntowardtheturf.Ifthe
grassdeectoriseverdamaged,replaceit
immediately.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthe
mowerdeck.
Nevertrytoclearthedischargearea
ormowerbladesunlessyoumovethe
blade-controlswitch(PTO)totheOFF
position,rotatethekeyswitchtotheOFF
position,andremovethekeyfromthekey
switch.
Makesurethatthegrassdeectorisinthe
downposition.
AdjustingtheHeightofCut
UsingtheTransportLock
Thetransportlockhas2positions,andisusedwith
thedeck-liftpedal.ThereisaLOCKpositionand
anUNLOCKpositionforthetransportpositionofthe
mowerdeck(Figure26).

Adjusttheheight-of-cutfrom38to127mm(1-1/2to5
inches)in6mm(1/4inch)incrementsbymovingthe
height-of-cutpinintodifferentholelocations.
1.MovethetransportlocktotheLOCKposition.
2.Pushonthedeck-liftpedalwithyourfootand
raisethemowerdecktotheTRANSPORTposition
(alsothe127mmor5inchcutting-height
position)asshowninFigure27.
3.Removethepinfromtheheight-of-cutbracket
