1.Donotcleanthepaperlter,replaceit(Figure44).
2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamageto
therubberseal.

Donotcleanthesecondarylter,replaceit.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesecondarylter.
Ifthesecondarylterisdirty,thentheprimarylteris
damagedandyoushouldreplacebothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,alwaysoperate
theenginewithbothairltersandcoverinstalled.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesecondarylterisbeingreplaced,carefullyslide
itintothelterbody(Figure44).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesecondary
lter(Figure44).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedby
pushingontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
4.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththebreathercapdown
androtatesotheretainingclampslockthecoverin
place(Figure44).

OilType:Detergentoil(APIserviceSG,SH,SJ,orSL)
CrankcaseCapacity:withalterchange,2.1L(2.2USqt);
withoutalterchange,1.8L(1.9USqt)
Viscosity:Seethetablebelow.

1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theneutral-lockedpositionandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position(Figure46).
