AdjustingtheParkingBrake
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst100hours
Every500hoursthereafter
Checktomakesurethebrakeisadjustedproperlybefore
adjusting.
Note:Thisproceduremustbefollowedaftertherst100
hoursorwhenabrakecomponenthasbeenremovedor
replaced.
DANGER
Mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmayfailtosupport
machineandcauseaseriousinjury.
•Usejackstandwhensupportingmachine.
•Donotusehydraulicjacks.
1.Drivethemachineontoalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheneutrallockedposition
andengagetheparkingbrake.
3.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekey.
4.Raisethebackofthemachineupandsupportthe
machinewithjackstands.
5.Removethereartiresfromthemachine.
6.Removeanydebrisfromthebrakearea.
7.Rotatethedrivewheelreleasehandletothereleased
position.RefertoUsingtheDriveWheelRelease
Valves(page29).
8.Checktoseeifthereisavisiblegapbetweenthe
L-bracketandthelinkagestop(Figure72).

tothecaliper;thewheelhubshouldmovefreely
betweenthecaliper.
11.Ifagapisneededorthewheelhubdoesnotmove
freely:
A.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
B.Disconnectandne-tunetherearlinkage
assembly:
•Shortenthelinktocreateagap.
•Lengthenthelinktoallowwheelhub
movement.
C.Reconnecttherearlinkageassembly.
12.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthegap.
13.Repeatsteps9through13untilavisiblegapisachieved
andthewheelhubrotatesfreely.
14.Repeatthisprocedureforthebrakeontheopposite
side.
15.Rotatethedrivewheelreleasehandletotheoperating
position.RefertoUsingtheDriveWheelRelease

16.Installthereartiresandtorquethelugnuts.Referto

17.Removethejackstands.
