Ensurethattherampislongenoughsothattheangle
withthegrounddoesnotexceed15degrees(Figure
39).Onatground,thisrequiresaramptobeatleast
4timesaslongastheheightofthetrailerortruckbed
totheground.Asteeperanglemaycausemower
componentstogetcaughtasthemachinemovesfrom
theramptothetrailerortruck.Steeperanglesmay
alsocausethemachinetotiporlosecontrol.Ifyou
areloadingthemachineonornearaslope,position
thetrailerortrucksothatitisonthedownsideof
theslopeandtherampextendsuptheslope.This
minimizestherampangle.
WARNING
Loadingamachineontoatrailerortruck
increasesthepossibilityofatip-overand
couldcauseseriousinjuryordeath.
Useextremecautionwhenoperatinga
machineonaramp.
EnsurethattheROPSisintheupposition
andusetheseatbeltwhenloadingor
unloadingthemachine.Ensurethatthe
ROPSclearsthetopofanenclosedtrailer.
Useonlyafull-widthramp;donotuse
individualrampsforeachsideofthe
machine.
Donotexceeda15-degreeanglebetween
therampandthegroundorbetweenthe
rampandthetrailerortruck.
Ensurethatthelengthoframpisatleast4
timesaslongastheheightofthetraileror
truckbedtotheground.Thisensuresthat
rampangledoesnotexceed15degreeson
atground.
Backthemachineuptherampsanddrive
itforwarddowntheramps.
Avoidsuddenaccelerationordeceleration
whiledrivingthemachineonarampasthis
couldcausealossofcontroloratip-over.
