CleaningandStorage
1.Disengagethepowertakeoff(bladecontrolswitch
(PTO),settheparkingbrake,andturntheignition
keytoOff.Removethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engineandhydraulicsystem.Cleandirtandchaff
fromtheoutsideoftheenginecylinderheadnsand
blowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,engine,
hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
3.Checkthebrake;refertoServicingtheBrakeinthe
MaintenanceSection.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
CleanerintheMaintenanceSection.
5.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingand
LubricationintheMaintenanceSection.
6.Changethecrankcaseoil;refertoServicingthe
EngineOilintheMaintenanceSection.
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
PressureintheMaintenanceSection.
8.Changethehydrauliclters;refertoServicingthe
HydraulicSystemintheMaintenanceSection.
9.Chargethebattery;refertoServicingtheBatteryin
theMaintenanceSection.
10.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfromthe
undersideofthemower,thenwashthemowerwith
agardenhose.
Note:Runthemachinewiththebladecontrol
switch(PTO)engagedandtheengineathighidlefor
2to5minutesafterwashing.
11.Checktheconditionoftheblades;refertoServicing
theCuttingBladesintheMaintenanceSection.
12.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachineforstorage
asfollows:
A.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tofuelinthetank.Followmixinginstructions
fromthestabilizermanufacturer.Donotusean
alcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfuelandused
atalltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthe
fueltank;refertoServicingtheFuelTankinthe
MaintenanceSection.
D.Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
E.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasperlocal
codes.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedfuelover90days.
13.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repair
orreplaceanypartthatisdamaged.
14.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
15.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchand
keepitoutofreachofchildrenorotherunauthorized
users.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepit
clean.
