ServiceInterval:Every50hours
WARNING
Hotexhaust-systemcomponentsmayignite
fuelvaporsevenafteryoushutofftheengine.
Hotparticlesexhaustedduringengine
operationmayigniteammablematerials,
resultinginpersonalinjuryorproperty
damage.
Donotrefuelorruntheengineunlessthe
sparkarresterisinstalled.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thePTO,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Waitforthemufertocool.
4.Ifyouseeanybreaksinthescreenorwelds,
replacethearrester.
5.Ifthescreenisplugged,removethearrester,
shakelooseparticlesoutofthearrester,and
cleanthescreenwithawirebrush(soakthe
screeninsolventifnecessary).
6.Installthearresterontheexhaustoutlet.

WARNING
Fuel-systemcomponentsareunderhigh
pressure.Theuseofimpropercomponents
canresultinsystemfailure,fuelleakage,and
possibleexplosion.
Useonlyapprovedfuellinesandfuellters.
ServicingtheElectronic
Fuel-InjectionSystem
Thismachinecontainsanelectronicfuel-injection
system.Itcontrolsthefuelowunderdifferent
operatingconditions.
Theelectronic-controlunit(ECU)continuously
monitorstheoperationoftheEFIsystem.
Ifaproblemorfaultwithinthesystemisdetected,the
malfunction-indicatorlight(MIL)illuminates.TheMIL
istheredlightlocatedintherightconsolepanel.
OncetheMILilluminates,makeinitialtroubleshooting
checks;refertotheMILsectionunderTroubleshooting
(page76).
Ifthesechecksdonotcorrecttheproblem,further
diagnosisandservicingbyanAuthorizedService
Dealerisnecessary.
Replacingthe
Low-PressureFuelFilter
ServiceInterval:Every200hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
Thefuellterislocatedneartheengineonthefront
orrearsideoftheengine.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Waitforthemachinetocooldown.
4.Closethefuel-shutoffvalveundertheseat
(Figure65).
